An evening of poetry, passion, and storytelling through the piano

Pianists Teo Zhen Yi and Bryan Soo present The Ballades: A Dialogue in Four Tales — a recital centered around one of the pinnacles of the Romantic piano repertoire: Frédéric Chopin’s four Ballades.

Widely regarded as some of the most profound and revolutionary works ever written for solo piano, the Ballades transcend the boundaries of traditional form. Each unfolds like a narrative without words, at times intimate and reflective, at times turbulent and heroic, drawing listeners into worlds of longing, conflict, tenderness, and triumph. Presented together in a single evening, the four Ballades form a larger journey: four distinct tales united by a shared spirit of imagination and emotional depth.
